Panhellenic Sisterhood at Tennessee Tech

Sorority Seniors of Tennessee Tech University

Kappa Delta & Phi Mu | Senior 2017

Alright, this is  really cool session y’all! We have had a few senior photoshoots with multiple girls in them. But we have never had a panhellenic photoshoot with seniors from different sororities. Until today! Taylor Martin, owner of Simple Shots & fraternity member of Phi Gamma Delta, uses his photography skills to capture these 4 seniors graduation photos. There is something so harmonious about this that all of these collegiates are working together across multiple houses to have a fun creative photoshoot together.

Kayla joined Kappa Delta her freshman year at Tennessee Tech University. Her studies focused on receiving a Bachelors of Science & Early Childhood Education. Even as a senior, her most cherished memory at the house is from her own Bid Day. Running together with her 3 best friends from childhood, all wearing their new KD letters, as their rushed towards their new sisterhood and full of excitement and anticipation of what the next 4 years had in store for them. Kayla had the opportunity to serve in several chapter offices including Man of the Month chair, International Women’s Friendship Chair, Homecoming Assistant & served on the Bid Day committee. Outside of Kappa Delta, Kayla enjoyed serving within the campus including joining the Fashion & Merchandising Club & the Campus Outreach.

War of Wings is one of the girls favorite philanthropy event held on campus. All of the money raised goes to Prevent Child Abuse America. The entire community is invited for the all you can eat wings for $5. With Kayla being a Childhood Education major she was especially passionate about this charity event. This event is the largest one on campus and raises around $30,000 yearly for the organization. The Kappa Delta ladies also hold their yearly Shamrock Week to help raise money donated to preventing child abuse.

Grace graduated with a degree in Merchandising and Design. The Merchandising Association is a club for her major. Grace had various positions within the club such as Public Relations chair & culminating in serving as President during her senior year.  She is so passionate about her time at Tennesee Tech that she also a Student Admission representative allowing her to speak with potential new freshman about applying to the campus. During her college years she most vividly recalls the memories and moments that stemmed from her joining the Greek system at Tech. Not only the friendships she made within her chapter, but also those ones with girls in other sorority houses. Of course, with her love for KD she spent time as the Vice President of Public Relations, Video chair, and served as the Relay for Life chair as a collegiate.
Hailey is a part of Phi Mu! She graduated with a B.A. in Business Management from Tennessee Tech University. Unlike the other girls, who all joined their freshman year, Hailey didn’t find her Greek home until the fall of 2014 as a sophomore. Hailey was extremely active within the intramural sports on campus. She participated in flag football, softball, ultimate frisbee, and dodgeball. Phi Mu holds their BonnaMu philanthropy event yearly. For this event, the ladies of Phi Mu invited the student organizations on campus (including the other sororities and fraternities) to participate in a 2-day event to collect box tops & Coke tabs. They kick off the event with a Spaghetti & BBQ dinner and silent auction. The following day there is a fun concert with the different organizations nominating up to 4 representatives to sing a song. The money raised goes to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals & the Monroe-Carroll Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital. While Hailey was at Phi Mu she served on a lot of committees including Sisterhood Development, Social, & Slate. Her sisters honored her when she was chosen to represent their sorority as the 2016 Homecoming Queen candidate.
Shelby graduated with a B.S. in Communications with a concentration in Journalism. With her focus on Communications it was quite fitting that she served as the PR Assistant and Secretary for her chapter as well as their Alumni Relations office. On campus she furthered her knowledge and dedication to her field by joining their PR Club, the Society of Collegiate Journalists, the Odyssey Team. Shelby also enjoyed her time as a tour guide giving tours of the Tennessee Tech campus. Two moments really stood out to Shelby when she reflected on her collegiate years. The first was when she received her bid from Kappa Delta. And the second was when she was announced as SAE Sweetheart! Awww!!

Taylor is a FIJI at Tennessee Tech so it was a perfect fit for the ladies to know him and be excited to do a photoshoot with him. He is studying for his Bachelors degree in International Business and Cultures. Upon graduation he hope to find a career that allows him to travel the world using his degree and passion for photography.
